We are all very happy to see that the World Golf Village area is growing again! You’ve probably noticed all the construction going on in the King & Bear, the Cascades, the Residences and the communities surrounding us. I analyze the Northeast Florida market statistics every month to see how our area is improving over time and I wanted to share the positive information I found. We have some really great things happening in and around WGV in 2014!
First, let’s look at what’s going on around our community and then we will look at what’s happening in WGV.
If you’ve been by the World Commerce Center recently, you’ve probably noticed all the construction going on. Mattamy Homes is building a community called Segovia, which will be a new townhome project of 220 homes.

The real estate market has been steadily improving this year and the so-called icing on the cake is the increase in new home sales. At Davidson Realty, a whopping 45% of their closings in November were new construction, and they have closed 85 new construction sales so far in 2013. A healthy real estate market is good for the economy and new construction is especially fruitful. According to the National Association of Home Builders, each new home provides approximately three new jobs for a year and an additional $90,000 in tax revenue. The Commerce Department reported that sales of new homes were up by 25% in October nationally.

Now that we’ve gotten to know the team behind Riverside Homes and taken a look at their stand-out construction process, it’s time to visit the design team at Interior Design Solutions (IDS) to understand Riverside Homes’ design process. Davidson Realty President Sherry Davidson and I joined Cindy with Riverside Homes and Jodi with IDS to explore the incredible options offered to Riverside Homes’ customers.
At this stage in Riverside Homes’ construction process, it’s time for soon-to-be-homeowners to select their design features for their new home. IDS is a by-appointment-only design center so that the interior designer can focus solely on your needs and cater the process and times to you. The design center is conveniently located off 1-95 and JTB at 6930 Bonneval Road.

Davidson Realty President Sherry Davidson and I recently met up with Chris Wood, Vice President of Riverside Homes, to learn how his newly-formed company came to be and check out all of Riverside Homes’ new construction happening in Durbin Crossing. Chris and his business partner Matt Roberts jumped at the chance to build in one of St. Johns County’s fastest growing communities located in the high-performing school district of St. Johns County. Durbin Crossing even has a K-8 school currently under construction scheduled to open for the 2014 school year.
