Summer vacation is just around the corner, but planning can be difficult. Where to go, how to get there and of course, the cost! Luckily, Davidson Cares has just launched its new Travel Raffle where you can win $2,500 towards the trip of your dreams. Thinking about taking a trip to Disney or even to visit family? By entering the Davidson Cares Travel Raffle, you have the chance to win airfare, accommodations, and even entertainment for your next family vacation.

Davidson Cares was created to support our local schools including Wards Creek Elementary, Mill Creek Elementary, Palencia Elementary and Pacetti Bay Middle School. The Travel Raffle is a way for everyone to come together and do just that! Tickets are $20 per ticket or 3 for $50 and can be purchased at the Davidson Realty office in the World Golf Village (100 East Town Place 32092).

Davidson Realty Forms Davidson Cares Foundation to Support St. Johns County Schools

Davidson CaresGreat news for our World Golf Village neighbors and other St. Johns County residents! Davidson Realty recently announced the creation of their new Davidson Cares Foundation and Program to support St. Johns County schools, including Wards Creek Elementary, Mill Creek Elementary, Palencia Elementary School, and Pacetti Bay Middle School. The foundation will be funded by proceeds from real estate sales along with great local fundraising events, like their first event at Mile Marker Brewery on Friday, November 9th! It’s great to see local businesses coming together to support our schools!

Interest is Growing for Pinterest! Follow Us & Watch for Pinterest Rewards Coming Soon

Pinterest_LogoPinterest is a virtual pinboard website where users collect and share images around a variety of themes mostly related to interests, hobbies and events.  For example, food, crafts and design are popular themes on Pinterest.  Thinking about a backyard makeover?  Create a pinboard (like a bulletin) on Pinterest and start collecting your favorite outdoor living images and ideas.  Or find great inspirational images and ideas for kids birthday parties, dessert recipes, home organization and more. It’s a visual social media site that lets users collect their own favorite images and browse other pinboards for inspiration, ‘re-pin’ images to their own collections and ‘like’ photos.

Kingpin Strikes Win in First Ever Name It, Play It Contest

Contest draws 1,268 entries and plenty of water cooler chat!

name it play it logo REDFINWe knew we’d have some entries when we created the new Name It, Play It contest but when the entries climbed to over 1,000 we were pleasantly surprised.  The contest also generated a lot of buzz.  We heard neighbors talking about it in the fitness center, it was discussed on the golf course and we even heard chatter about it in Publix.  And then there were the emails…let’s just say some people were passionate about their entries.  In the end, the entry with the most votes (591 to be exact) was Kingpin which cleverly speaks to Arnold Palmer’s nickname as The King and, of course, the golf pin.

Name It, Play It Contest Coming Soon – Offers Unique Opportunity to Name Arnold Palmer’s Favorite King & Bear Golf Hole

name it play it logo REDFINThe Neighborhoods of World Golf Village, Honours Golf and Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village are teaming up for a once-in-a-lifetime shot for golf fans to leave their mark on the renowned King & Bear golf course.   The new Name It, Play It contest will invite folks to tap their right brain and suggest a creative name for Hole 15 on the King & Bear golf course at World Golf Village.  The King & Bear is the one and only time golf legends Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus collaborated to design a golf course.  The 15th Hole is Arnold Palmer’s self-professed favorite hole.  In fact, Palmer selected hole number 15 as one of his “Dream 18” in Sports Illustrated’s Preview to the Ryder Cup 2006.

The Name It, Play It contest will kick off this Spring countrywide.  Contestants will submit a name suggestion for the golf hole.  Inspiration may come from the hole’s premier design, its stunning natural setting, the way it plays or elsewhere. The top submissions will be selected and voted on by the public.  The winning name will receive the honor of leaving his or her mark on the legendary course as well as an exclusive trip for two to World Golf Village, complete with deluxe accommodations at the Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village, golf for two on both the King & Bear and Slammer & Squire courses courtesy of Honours Golf, a travel voucher for up to $500 courtesy of the Neighborhoods of World Golf Village and more!

St. Johns County Stays at the Head of Class!

Davidson Appreciates Teachers ResizedOn Monday, Jan. 23rd the state Department of Education released their annual grades for county schools based on the 2011 FCAT results (Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test), and various other categories.  For the fourth straight year, the St. Johns County School District is ranked number one in the entire state of Florida! With 67 total school Districts and 3,078 public and charter schools in all of Florida, it is quite an accomplishment to be consistently at the top each school year.

A lot of credit needs to be given to the students throughout St. Johns County for their hard work, dedication and performances, which is reflected by their overall school grades.  But the teaching staff in St. Johns County needs a standing ovation for the above and beyond attitude they put forth everyday to ensure our children’s bright futures.

That is why more than ever, we as a community need to come together and show our appreciation towards our local teaching staff. As of January 30th and running until February 13th, Davidson Realty’s 4th quarter of Davidson Appreciates Teachers is kicking off. They will be collecting nominations for all the resource teachers at Mill Creek Elementary and Wards Creek Elementary Schools, including PE, Guidance Counselors, Art, Media Specialists, Music, Computer and Spanish.
