Delicious ice cream and game day munchies are here! Dairy Dugout recently opened in World Golf Village’s West Town Place Plaza (next to Cino’s) and our WGV residents couldn’t be more excited for their weekly lunch specials and ice cream galore! I recently stopped by Dairy Dugout for a sweet treat and was very pleased with my vanilla and chocolate swirl ‘Chang Up’ loaded with Reese’s Cups and Snickers.

Davidson Realty’s team took an afternoon to leave our World Golf Village-based office and make our way to Julington Creek for lunch at Blackstone Grille. We had heard wonderful things about the bistro style restaurant located at Bartram Oaks Walk (close to the intersection of SR13 San Jose and Race Track Road), but we had to try it for ourselves. Our group of 30 was graciously greeted and seated in a private room. We had exceptional service and scrumptious food!

Blackstone Grille offered us a fixed menu to cater to our large group size and help with timing of the lunch. We had to get back to the real world at some point, I guess! Especially with all the home sales and real estate closings our amazing agents have been handling.

From the moment you enter New York Pizza Company, a quaint little pizza shop in Palencia Village, you are greeted with warmth by the employees and the smell of pies baking. You can see the cook slinging dough and throwing it in the air, while you enjoy one (or a few) of the many scrumptious appetizers on their menu. Not only is the restaurant’s charming staff prompt and pleasant, they also serve great New York style pizza and other delectable Italian dishes!

Two of my favorite restaurants to visit by sea or land are Cap’s on the Water and The Conch House Restaurant. Cap’s offers new coastal cuisine in an old Florida setting, while The Conch House is known for delectable Caribbean style cooking. Regardless which style you prefer, they both deliver fresh Florida seafood and outstanding service.

Tropical Smoothie is now open in The Shoppes at Murabella! It came at the perfect time when the beach and an ice-cold smoothie are calling your name. I think I can speak for most of my World Golf Village neighbors when I say how excited I am to have a healthy and delicious restaurant right outside the King & Bear gate.

“Eat Better. Feel Better.” Tropical Smoothie offers fresh food including breakfast, salads, wraps, sandwiches and flatbreads along with real fruit smoothies. My personal favorite is the Peaches N’ Silk with fresh peaches, strawberries and bananas, but you have your pick from low fat smoothies, supercharged smoothies or simply indulgent smoothies. Don’t forget to add in supplements for that extra boost! They offer everything from energizer supplements to stress defense supplements.

I, along with many of my World Golf Village neighbors, have been waiting for a great sushi and hibachi grilled table restaurant to come to our area for quite some time now. Luckily, our prayers have been answered! Sumo Sushi is a Japanese Steak House that recently opened off of CR 210 (right behind the McDonalds) and is the perfect place for a date night, lunch date, friends get-together or celebrating a birthday!

Move over cupcakes.  Frozen yogurt is the new favorite treat.  You can serve yourself, mix and match flavors, and get exactly the amount you want.  Then create your own masterpiece by choosing from a variety of toppings.  Frozen yogurt is also a slightly healthier dessert choice since it’s non-fat, but that’s beside the point because it tastes creamy, sweet and delicious!  So I was thrilled when a new Yogurt shop opened in Palencia.  A few days ago my friend and I went to visit Yogurt Motion located in the Palencia Commons. We met the owner, Scott Sance, who was glad to talk to us about the new, self-serve frozen yogurt shop.

Local Irish pub Donovan’s is located at Plaza Palencia, just southeast of the intersection of International Golf Parkway and US-1. With great Irish-inspired food, good service, and a genuinely sincere staff, this fun bar and restaurant is a nice place to relax, watch some football, and enjoy a comforting meal.  I have been going to Donovan’s ever since I can remember (I’m 12 now), and it is definitely one of my favorite restaurants.

We’ve got great news for our World Golf Village neighbors: Colorado Burrito Company is now open at its new location in the West Town Place shopping plaza. With expanded business hours, additional menu items, outdoor dining, wine margaritas, and domestic/imported beer, Colorado Burrito Company is better than ever!

From their massive entrees like the “BIG Burrito” loaded with Mexicali rice, shredded cheese, sour cream and your choice of beans and meat, to their giant Taco Salad, Colorado Burrito Company is the perfect place to stop in for a quick lunch. They also offer great appetizers like Jalapeno Poppers, South West Egg Rolls, or their famous Hot or Mild Pork Green Chile.

blackfly restaurantI’ve been excited to try Blackfly for a while now.  It started when I first noticed the building one morning following a bike ride in Anastasia State Park.  The restaurant sits just east of the Bridge of Lions and I noticed it because it had been painted a refreshing Caribbean blue.  My curiosity continued when I found out that the same folks who own Collage restaurant in downtown St. Augustine were partners in the new restaurant.  Well, my curiosity was quenched Friday, July 20 when my husband and I enjoyed a great evening at Blackfly.
