Never have we been happier to hear the hammers, electric saws, beeping trucks and other sounds of new construction! Once again our St. Augustine golf course community is abuzz with new home activity. More than 40 new homes are currently under construction in World Golf Village. The new construction projects are spread throughout a variety of the master-planned neighborhoods. Says Sherry Davidson, president of Davidson Realty, the leading real estate agency for World Golf Village and surrounding St. Johns County communities, “This new home building activity continues a forward trend in construction we started to see at the beginning of 2010, and we expect the St. Augustine and Jacksonville FL real estate markets will continue to improve this year.”
Currently there are 13 homes under construction in The Cascades, the active adult retirement community. Sixteen homes are underway in Laterra Links, the high-end enclave of coach homes, and another 10 homes are under construction in Heritage Landing, the amenity-packed family neighborhood. Also under construction are two custom homes in Oakgrove Estates and The Crest, respectively. Davidson added, “We started seeing a recovery to the real estate market in late 2009. In January 2009, there was not a single new construction project on the horizon, but we kicked off January 2010 with several different projects and the building continues.”

The theme is Cinco de Mayo and you can register to win a $100 gift card to La Nopalera, one of the best Mexican restaurants in town. Make sure to try their pitchers of margaritas – they can’t be beat!
Heritage Landing is a neighborhood full of fun! The amenity center, Camp Heritage, is a sight to see for any family looking for summertime fun. This clubhouse features an open air picnic pavilion, Jr. Olympic swimming pool, tennis courts, and an awesome water slide with a lookout tower that promises to entertain your kids for hours. Aaron and Kate McDaniel are the winners of our Happy Couple Photo Contest. The Heritage Landing residents won folks over with their lovely beach embrace photo, getting the most votes and great support from friends and family. Davidson Realtor Lyn Sappington was the McDaniel’s Agent when they moved into Heritage Landing in January, 2009, and she was not surprised that they won the contest. She said, “Kate and Aaron are a wonderful and loving couple that truly enjoy each other’s company, which makes them a pleasure to be around.” They look forward to a romantic dinner at Le Pavillon in St. Augustine (the grand prize) when Aaron returns from his Iraq tour of duty in May. We wish them all the best!

Well, we just had another successful Sneak Peek Open House in Heritage Landing at World Golf Village on December 5. Families from around the area strolled through five homes in the community that are available for sale through Davidson Realty. One of them told me they like being able to look at a bunch of homes without any pressure. And that is great – because that’s exactly why we host the Sneak Peek Open House every month! Since we encouraged visitors to bring toys to donate to Sertoma Toys for Tots this month, the event was a double success. Thanks to those that donated!
As I mentioned, we normally have Sneak Peek Saturdays on the first Saturday of every month, but since the first Saturday in January is the day after New Year’s, we thought we would skip January and host the next event on February 6. (more…)

The Neighborhoods of World Golf Village is excited to share that the Sneak Peek Saturday in December will be in Heritage Landing. On December 5 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., a variety of homes throughout Heritage Landing at World Golf Village will be open for tours. This event will continue Davidson Realty’s tradition of hosting community-wide open houses in World Golf Village on the first Saturday of each month.
The Sneak Peek open house in December will also serve as an opportunity to contribute to Davidson Realty’s toy drive for Sertoma for Tots, an organization that collects and distributes toys to underprivileged children in our local area. Toys will be collected at each home on tour as well as at Davidson Realty at the main entrance to World Golf Village. As always, we will be serving festive treats in one of the homes on tour too!
