Last month, we shared the first step of building a custom home with Arthur Rutenberg Homes. We took you on a tour of Arthur Rutenberg’s incredible model in Ponte Vedra, FL where we picked our floor plan and explored the model home to better understand the high level of finishes and options that come with a new home by Arthur Rutenberg. Now it’s time for the next step in building your Arthur Rutenberg home, visiting the inspiring design center, where you pick all your options for your new home! 

In the design center, you begin by selecting materials for the exterior of our home to get the exact look you want. The savvy Arthur Rutenberg designers work with you to choose everything for your exterior space like material for your roof: maybe Mediterranean-style tile?  Then there’s the choice of stucco finishes, veneers, stone and other exterior options, and don’t forget about pavers for the driveway and maybe for the patio too. 

After the outside is complete, it’s time to move to the interior. First up is choosing the main flooring because it’s the biggest area. Do you want tile, stone, marble, wood, carpet or a combination? The possibilities are endless! From there, you and the designer will study on interior paint color, trim color, ceiling color, accents, cabinet materials, countertops, etc.  The kitchen is no doubt one of the areas you’ll spend the most time on at the design center, which makes sense since we spend so much time living in the kitchen. The designer will help you coordinate looks so your interior design is exactly what you dreamed of.

The design center process can take two to three days.  While it can be exhausting, it’s definitely exciting.  The Arthur Rutenberg experts are there to help every step of the way, including recording and snapping photographs of  all your fabulous choices so you can revisit what you selected whenever necessary.
