The St. Johns County School District hosted two town hall meetings to present zoning changes for local high schools, and as a result, has announced newly revised plans.

The new WGV school, currently referred to as High School HHH, will be built on International Golf Parkway next to Mill Creek Academy.

According to the zoning revisions, students who live in areas located west of I95 (all of World Golf Village) will be rezoned from Nease High School to High School HHH once complete. This extends to CR 16A south of Shearwater as well as Orangedale (the portion east of Trout Creek and SR 16). Areas west of Trout Creek are proposed to remain at Bartram Trail.

The rezoning from Nease to HHH will also include a few areas east of I95 including Bannon Lakes, Markland and homes along North Francis Road.

The First Coast is ramping up for the 2020 Players Championship from March 10 to 15 at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach. Whether you’ll be attending the tournament or watching at home, there are several new changes being implemented to note.

See every shot by every player

First, every single shot by every single player during golf’s unofficial fifth major of the season will be broadcast all week from about 120 cameras set up throughout the course. To see it, you must be a subscriber to PGA Tour Live on either NBC Sports Gold or Amazon Prime.

If you’re a golf fan, it looks to be well worth it! You will be able to select which player you would like to follow as well as switch between players during the broadcast. According to the PGA Tour, the company is hoping this new feature will be something they can promote at every PGA Tour event going forward.

Track shot trails through TourCast

The PGA Tour will also launch a new and improved TourCast, which allows you to see the shot trails of every ball hit. Using the TourCast, you will receive access to on-demand video highlights and ShotLink Data on the PGA Tour’s mobile app as well as theplayers.com.

As the Kansas City Chiefs prepare to take on the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV, World Golf Village residents are preparing for their own game day festivities!

For die-hard football fans, all that’s needed is a platter of chicken wings and a TV. But for everyone else, a great way to include all guests is to host fun Super Bowl party games, especially the prop bet game.

Rather than trying to guess point spreads or receiving yards, this version levels the playing field (pun intended) so everyone has a chance no matter their football knowledge—or lack thereof. You can even invite the kids to participate

If you haven’t tried Tank’s Sushi Bistro because you think it is just like any other strip center sushi restaurant–or you don’t like sushi—it is time to take another look!

The menu goes far beyond raw fish to include a huge variety of appetizers, hibachi entrees, fried rice and soups. At a recent dinner visit, one person in our party ordered the Hibachi Scallops, and upon trying it, I can say it was fantastic. The scallops and vegetables were perfectly cooked, and the portion was enough for two meals!

For sushi lovers, the classics as well as unique creations are available from the sushi bar. They clearly use fresh, high quality ingredients as all of the sushi we ordered was outstanding.

Try the Tomo Roll (as beautiful as it is delicious), Tuna King Roll or the Murabella Roll (with shrimp tempura). My personal fave is the Angry Dragon Roll (with spicy tuna and shrimp tempura). If you like fried rolls, try the Hwy 16 Roll (deep fried with smoked salmon) or the classic Dynamite Roll.
