The winner of the Travel Raffle will receive $2500 for travel, including transportation, accommodations and entertainment for the trip of your family’s choice. Whether it be skiing in Aspen, a Disney cruise, visiting out-of-town family or even Mardi Gras, the $2500 price can be applied to your own personal travel plans.
The Davidson Cares Travel Raffle offers all our WGV friends a chance to win a $2500 trip towards travel, while supporting our schools at the same time! The raffle is conducted by Davidson Cares, Davidson Realty’s charitable foundation, which supports our neighborhood schools, including Mill Creek Elementary, Wards Creek Elementary, Palencia Elementary and Pacetti Bay Middle School. All proceeds will benefit those four schools.
Davidson Cares’ first event of the school year, Novemberfest, was a huge success racking in over $8,000 for Wards Creek Elementary, Mill Creek Elementary, Palencia Elementary and Pacetti Bay Middle School! World Golf Village parents, teachers, residents and friends had a great time at Mile Marker Brewing rocking out to Dos Gringos, enjoying the Moe’s Southwest Grill Taco Bar and bidding on amazing silent auction and raffle items all for the St. Johns County Schools.
Grab your friends and neighbors to come out for Davidson Cares’ first fundraiser of the year at Mile Marker Brewing on November 8th beginning at 7 pm! Your $25 ticket includes two pints of your choice (or two glasses of wine), Moe’s Southwest Grill Taco Bar, Live music by Dos Gringos and access to great silent auction/raffle items up for grabs. All proceeds from the silent auction and raffle items go directly to our local St. Johns County schools, including Wards Creek Elementary, Mill Creek Elementary, Palencia Elementary and Pacetti Bay Middle School. Education is a top priority for the area’s parents and educators in St. Johns County Schools. A great example of this commitment is found in Mill Creek Elementary Principal Amanda Riedl. We recently caught up with Amanda to learn more about her background and her dedication to providing the best in academic excellence to local students.
Having grown up in the panhandle’s Okaloosa County, Amanda is a Floridian through and through. After earning her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida, she and her husband relocated to Kansas City, Missouri. In addition to learning to live and drive in snow for the first time, Amanda pursued her passion for education with the North Kansas City School District.
We are thrilled to announce the launch of Davidson Cares 2.0! Davidson Realty and the Davidson Companies’ successful corporate giving program demonstrates our commitment to local education, and this year’s program promises to have an even greater impact than last year.
Our program provides financial support to schools in the World Golf Village area, including Mill Creek Elementary, Wards Creek Elementary, Palencia Elementary and Pacetti Bay Middle School. During the 2012-2013 school year we raised a total of $11,300 in less than six months for the four schools. This year’s bar is set even higher!
Davidson Realty President Sherry Davidson and I were excited to get a personal tour of Palencia Elementary School (PES) from Principal Don Campbell. Don has been in education for more than 40 years and specializes in opening new schools, such as Wards Creek Elementary in World Golf Village, and now Palencia Elementary, which opened in August of 2012. Palencia Elementary is one of our most leading edge St. Johns County Schools and caters to 738 students. Come along with us for a tour!

St. Augustine Academy of the Arts, the area’s premier arts center, takes the stress out of after school transportation for parents and puts the fun back in afternoons for kids. The center now provides after school pick-up and transportation to the center for several local schools, including Wards Creek Elementary, Mill Creek Elementary, Palencia Elementary, and Pacetti Bay Middle.
Says Artistic Director Tasha Wells, “The kids are always excited to get here and start moving after a long day at school. This program gets the kids here safely and also helps parents with after-school logistics.”
Davidson Cares, the corporate giving program of Davidson Realty and the Davidson Companies, focuses on supporting local St. Johns County public schools in and around the World Golf Village area. Last week, Davidson Cares board members and team visited Mill Creek Elementary, Wards Creek Elementary, Palencia Elementary and Pacetti Bay Middle School to award each winning video from their grant program $1,000 and all other video submissions received $100 towards their needs.
